(photoshop 7.0) how can i add a little bit of color to my blk & white photos?

hey im looking for help thats not so complicated using photoshop 7.0 how can i add a touch of color to my black and white pictures ive searched online but it all seems so complicated (i am a beginner)

I'm assuming that maybe you only have the B%26W version of an image. Because if you have the original image still in color you can use Dr. Sam's technique above.



So, if my assumption is correct, do this:



Check the mode of the b%26w image. If it's grayscale, change it to RGB - otherwise, you won't be able to add color.



Now, create a new layer. Select a brush. Double click on the foreground color box and choose a color, Click OK. The color in the foreground box should now be the color you've selected.



Color in the area you want to be in color.



There, you see. It works!



You'll have to practice with making the brush different shapes, sizes, harder or softer edges, and maybe the opacity.



But I'm sure you'll get the hang of it.
