Photoshop portraiture techniques?

Alright, I'm a user of Photoshop, but am always looking out for new techniques on portraiture, that are cutting edge/unique/strange...

Any ideas? site where some of these can be found?

Optic Verve Labs has some nice free filters called Virtual Photographer. I like their "radiant" for some portraits and it has a nice B%26W section. All of them are better on a layer and modifyed. Recently I am enjoying working with textures and some portraits lend themselves to that effect quite nicely.

I find more and more brides are savvy to photo effects and want them.

Have a look at his second image.Not cutting edge, but a bit different.
It all happens in the camera.

The only thing you can do to enhance the subject is to use a program add-on like Kodak's GEM to make the models skin clearer
