ok. so i got photoshop. and i wanna know how to do really cool things such as effects. i am a beginnner so i need to know everything with the basics. cuz theres SOO MUCH STUFF on there..and its all confusing to me

I know what you mean, nothing seems to work the way you want it until you get to know your way around.

The best way to learn is to do some photo shop tutorials.

I can understand why it's confusing, there really is a lot of stuff there! Even real experts in Photoshop will tell you that no one can learn EVERYTHING about Photoshop, but in a way that's a good thing because it means you can keep exploring and maybe figure out new ways of doing things (for a lot of stuff in Photoshop there's no "right" way to do something.)

Besides looking up tutorials on the internet (and there are tons of wonderful free tutorials out there) you may want to get a book or two. Photoshop for Dummies is a good beginner book, it will explain lots of the concepts you have to know to be able to understand how it works and why. Also the Visual QuickStart Guide is good. There's also Adobe Photoshop Classroom in a Book, although some people think those books are a bit boring.
