This difference is all about Color Management.
When a photo is created, it is often labeled with a particular Color Profile (Adobe RGB, etc.). If it is labeled, when you open it in Photoshop you are asked if you want to convert to the Working Space (if different). Or you can chose to not manage color.
Open a color pic in Photoshop, then click Edit/Color Settings. You will see a screen that lets you pick a Color Profile for the Photoshop Working Space.
Probably the Profile you now have is different than the one you think is correct in the other product. If so, change the Photoshop working space to the Profile you like.
Incidentally, printers also have color profiles. These may be different than the Photoshop Profile, which is one reason the colors in the prints do not match what you saw on the screen.
Good Luck

check your preferences for color settings/ monitor settings /calibrations,

..
Probably has to do with the monitor settings or calibration.
In photoshop, check to see if the image is in Adobe RGB 1998 color profile.
Find this under
Photoshop, Color Settings.
