Photoshop tool outline????

I have photoshop and sometimes when I click on a tool it won't show the outline of it. Like if I want the brush and I choose size 40 and I don't see an outline of how big it is I don't know what I am painting... Please HELP... this has been going on for months now lol

Could be a couple of things....

1. If you have your Caps lock on. Photoshop will automatically default to "precise mode" which is what sounds like you're dealing with.

2. If its always like that reguardless of your caps lock then go to your preferences--%26gt; general and uncheck the "Use Precise Cursors" box.

But if it's happening on and off... I'd check your caps lock. Hope that helps!
