Photoshop--getting rid of dates?

How do you get rid of the dates (like in the bottom corner) on your photo's using photoshop?

For photos you take in the future, turn off the Date option on your camera.

For photos already taken, if there is nothing important near the edge of the photo just crop it to get rid of the area containing the date. (Select most of the photo, leaving out the date area, Image menu, Crop.)

If you don't want to crop the photo that drastically, use Photoshop's Patch tool and/or Healing Brush, or for older versions of Photoshop use the clone tool to copy surrounding parts of the photo and paste them over the date.

Do this in bits and pieces rather than trying to cover the entire date all at once. If you are careful you can do a very convincing job.

just waterdrop the color, then 'paint' over it.
There's a tool in the left side of the palette, called the "rubber stamp".

You hold down the 'ALT' key, and click on a spot very close to the date. This is picking a spot to copy from.

Then you mouse over the date itself.

This will take a bit of practise to get right. The trick is to pick random locations to copy from, so that you don't create patterns that are visible on your photo.
